Malaysian Driving Licence holders with licences expired beyond 36 months are ineligible for the BUDI95 fuel subsidy and must retake their driving test
PUTRAJAYA: Holders of the Malaysian Driving Licence (LMM) with licences expired for more than 36 months are ineligible for the targeted BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) subsidy.
Road Transport Department (RTD) director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli stated that eligibility for the subsidy is contingent on the licence’s active status.
He defined an active LMM as one that has not been expired for more than 36 months from its last renewal date.
Holders within this period remain eligible for the BUDI95 fuel subsidy.
Aedy Fadly explained that licences expired beyond 36 months cannot be renewed automatically.
Holders must instead retake the full driving competency test at any accredited driving institute.
He urged all LMM holders to renew their licences within the prescribed period to maintain eligibility.
Drivers must also ensure their driving licence is valid and has not expired when operating a vehicle.
“The RTD remains committed to delivering services that are efficient, transparent, and integrity-driven,” he said.
This commitment aligns with the Malaysia MADANI aspiration to safeguard public well-being.
