Johawaki Holdings group MD and CEO Datuk Johari Mat has died at age 74. Funeral prayers will be held at two locations before burial in Shah Alam.
SHAH ALAM: Johawaki Holdings Sdn Bhd group managing director and group chief executive officer Datuk Johari Mat has passed away at age 74.
He died at 11.30 pm yesterday at Avisena Hospital in Section 14 here, confirmed by his son Mohamad Akmal Johari.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed condolences to the family via a Facebook post.
Ahmad Zahid described Johari’s passing as a great loss to his family, friends and corporate sector associates.
“May Allah SWT forgive his sins and place him among His righteous servants,” he wrote, adding he had paid his last respects.
According to family information, Johari’s remains were taken to Surau Al-Munawarah in Section 13 for first funeral prayers at 10 am.
The remains will then be taken to Surau Khalid Al-Walid at the Selangor contingent police headquarters for second funeral prayers.
He will be laid to rest at the Section 21 Muslim Cemetery after Zohor prayers. – Bernama
