Kelantan greenlights 52 Ramadan bazaar locations with 3,771 stalls for the 2026 fasting month, offering business opportunities across all districts.
KOTA BHARU: A total of 52 Ramadan bazaar locations involving 3,771 stalls have been approved for operation across Kelantan for this year’s fasting month.
State Local Government, Housing, Health and Environment Committee chairman Hilmi Abdullah said all bazaars would be managed by the respective local authorities in collaboration with appointed organisers.
He explained that the initiative provides business opportunities for thousands of small and medium traders in every district across the state.
The Kota Bharu Municipal Council will oversee 14 bazaar locations containing 1,115 stalls.
The Ketereh District Council has allocated 779 stalls across five locations, while the Tumpat District Council will manage 274 stalls at four sites.
Other local authorities have also approved significant numbers, including Machang (261 stalls), Kuala Krai (110), Tanah Merah (252), Pasir Puteh (241), Pasir Mas (165), Bachok–Islamic Tourism Town (147), Jeli (172), Dabong (95) and Gua Musang (160).
“Stall rental rates vary by location and are set either by the local authorities or appointed organisers, ranging from RM290 to RM550 per lot,” Hilmi told Bernama.
He added that the state government, through the local authorities, would ensure cleanliness, food safety and smooth traffic flow throughout the bazaar operations.
Regular monitoring will also be carried out to ensure traders comply with all licensing conditions and guidelines.
