LATAR interchange opens to boost Puncak Alam connectivity

New LATAR interchange and toll plaza to enhance mobility and spur economic growth in Puncak Alam with RM200 million investment.

KUALA SELANGOR: The new Eco Grandeur Interchange and Toll Plaza officially opens to traffic today, marking a significant infrastructure milestone for Puncak Alam.

This RM200 million project on the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR) will greatly improve convenience and mobility for residents and businesses.

EcoWorld president and chief executive officer Datuk Chang Khim Wah said the interchange unlocks growth opportunities across the township and surrounding areas.

“By investing in key infrastructure upfront, we’re ensuring that EcoWorld’s developments are positioned to thrive from the very outset,” he stated at the launch ceremony.

The project was jointly officiated by Minister of Works Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi and Menteri Besar of Selangor Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Completed in October 2025, the development encompasses the interchange, toll plaza, road-widening works and infrastructure upgrades.

It provides direct access via Exit 2502 to Eco Grandeur, a 566.55-hectare integrated township, and Eco Business Park V, a 339.93-hectare industrial hub.

The new link is expected to enhance mobility for residents and commuters while improving logistics efficiency for businesses.

Chang noted that over 4,600 residential and 215 commercial units have been completed in Eco Grandeur.

Another 4,600 Rumah Selangorku affordable homes are currently under development in support of the state government’s housing agenda.

In Eco Business Park V, a total of 416 factory lots have been completed to date.

The Eco Grandeur Toll Plaza features 10 lanes with five in each direction, equipped with multiple payment systems including RFID, Touch ‘n Go, Open Payment and SmartTAG.

This public-private partnership initiative is expected to improve traffic distribution and reduce congestion along Jalan Meru Tambahan.

It will catalyse further investment and stimulate local economic activity in the growing Puncak Alam corridor.

The group has also undertaken public infrastructure upgrades including road improvements and flood-mitigation measures along key roads.

These enhancements benefit not only EcoWorld residents but the wider Puncak Alam community.

EcoWorld previously played a pivotal role with the Selangor government in reviving the long-abandoned Projek Peneroka in Puncak Alam.

This initiative involved building new homes and providing compensation to 987 affected settlers after more than 17 years of waiting. – Bernama
