MACC’s STRIKE weight management programme aims to enhance officer fitness and work efficiency through health activities and lifestyle changes.
PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has launched the Weight Management Awareness Programme to improve employee health, fitness, and weight management.
MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the initiative ensures personnel remain fit, healthy, and well-presented for enforcement duties.
“I want to see MACC officers project an image that reflects the organisation’s integrity,” he stated after opening the ‘One Strike! Towards a Healthy Lifestyle’ seminar.
Azam noted that participant commitment requires strengthening, with less than 50% attending scheduled sessions since the July launch.
Several improvements have been introduced, including healthier meeting menus and calorie information displays at cafeterias.
Calorie markers on staircases, optimised gym use, and Friday afternoon fitness sessions with certified instructors reinforce healthy culture.
“Lifestyle transformation cannot depend solely on programmes but requires self-discipline and continuous awareness,” he emphasised.
The programme aims to produce officers who are both efficient in duties and physically and mentally strong.
Healthy living must become a work culture rather than a temporary episode, according to Azam.
Universiti Putra Malaysia and the Malaysian Obesity Society will use programme findings for academic publication.
Implementation includes both in-person and online activities through various engagement methods.
These comprise lifestyle monitoring logbooks, nutrition counselling, and health assessments.
Expert sharing sessions, healthy cooking demonstrations, and professional fitness training complete the programme.
The STRIKE programme is scheduled to conclude in January 2026.
