MBI Selangor wins ESG award for strong governance and ethical leadership

MBI Selangor receives the ESG Plus Award for Governance and Ethical Leadership, recognising its commitment to corporate governance and sustainability

SHAH ALAM: Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI Selangor) has received the ESG Plus Award in the Governance and Ethical Leadership category.

The award was presented at the ESG PLUS Awards 2025 ceremony in Kuala Lumpur.

It recognises the organisation’s commitment to strong corporate governance and sustainable financial initiatives.

The award also honours comprehensive personal data protection and integrity-driven leadership.

MBI Selangor said the accolade reflects its dedication to high-integrity governance as a foundation for long-term value creation.

“Our portfolio spans sectors vital to Selangor’s economic growth, including land and property, mining and minerals, water, energy and utilities,” the organisation stated.

It added that maintaining public trust and managing institutional risk is a huge responsibility.

The statement affirmed a commitment to strengthen transparency and data-driven management in line with the First Selangor Plan.

Strategic partners for the awards included Baker Tilly Malaysia, ESG Academy and Convene ESG.

These partners ensured all assessments were conducted according to international standards.

MBI Selangor also reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainability efforts alongside Selangor’s development agenda.

An ESG PLUS dialogue was held concurrently at the Sheraton Hotel.

The dialogue theme was “The ESG Balancing Act: Profit, People & Planet in Today’s Economy”.

It brought together industry leaders to share insights and best practices in ESG leadership.

Participants discussed the challenges and future direction of implementing sustainability principles in Asia. – Bernama
