The Melaka government contributes RM300,000 to state police for welfare aid and distributes school assistance to 357 children of officers.

MELAKA: The state government has contributed RM300,000 to the Melaka police contingent for distribution among its three district headquarters.

Ab Rauf announced the contribution at the “Jelajah Wira MADANI: Bantuan Khas Persekolahan untuk Anak-anak Warga IPK Melaka” programme.

The event was also attended by Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail and Melaka Police Chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar.

Under the separate school aid initiative, 357 children of police officers received cash assistance ranging from RM100 to RM150 and vouchers.

Three retired police officers also received RM500 each during the programme.

Ab Rauf said the contribution reflects the state government’s appreciation for the sacrifices of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and their families.

He expressed hope that the aid would help ease burdens and support children’s educational aspirations.

Inspector-General of Police Mohd Khalid said the assistance demonstrates the government’s commitment to strengthening MADANI values.

He added that it would help ease financial pressures ahead of the upcoming school session.

The aid is also intended to motivate children to strive for a brighter future, he said. – Bernama
