MetMalaysia issues continuous rain warning for six states

Alert covers Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak until Nov 24 and Kelantan, Terengganu until Nov 26; public advised to stay updated.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain and strong wind warning involving several areas in Pahang, Johor, Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan until 1 am today.

MetMalaysia, in a statement, said the affected areas in Pahang were Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin, while in Johor, they involved Segamat, Mersing and Kota Tinggi.

“In Sarawak, the affected areas include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Betong (Pusa, Saratok and Kabong), Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu, Miri (Telang Usan) and Limbang (Lawas),” the statement said.

In Sabah, the areas involved are the Interior, West Coast, Tawau and Sandakan (Telupid, Beluran and Sandakan). – Bernama
