MINDEF manages 11 MADANI adopted schools with RM100,000 projects each to bring digital education and holistic development to rural communities.
KOTA TINGGI: The Ministry of Defence is overseeing 11 schools under the Sekolah Angkat MADANI initiative to ensure quality education reaches rural communities.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said six schools are directly managed by MINDEF while five fall under the Armed Forces Fund Board’s purview.
He stated the programme realises the Malaysia MADANI concept emphasising inclusive development and social well-being.
“Each adopted school project is valued at RM100,000 and focuses on integrating digital technology into learning,” he told reporters after launching the programme at SK Felda Lok Heng.
Mohamed Khaled emphasised the initiative goes beyond mere slogans to ensure development reaches rural students and communities.
He launched two schools in the district today – SK Gembut managed by the Malaysia Defence Intelligence Organisation and SK Felda Lok Heng managed directly by MINDEF.
The minister said the initiative is expected to continue and expand next year in line with the government’s commitment to accessible quality education.
He highlighted the programme represents the government’s dedication to ensuring holistic development reaches all Malaysians regardless of location.
