New Putrajaya Corporation president to drive CHASE City vision

Mohd Sakeri appointed as Putrajaya Corporation president to lead urban development, digitalisation and green mobility initiatives.

PUTRAJAYA: The appointment of Datuk Mohd Sakeri Abdul Kadir as Putrajaya Corporation president is expected to boost the federal territory’s development under the CHASE City vision.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said his appointment aligns with the Putrajaya Corporation Act 1995.

“Insya-Allah, with this appointment, he will lead PPj efficiently, with integrity and a clear vision,” she said in a statement.

Dr Zaliha emphasised this would strengthen urban development aligned with the CHASE City vision.

The vision includes improving urban maintenance quality and digitalising municipal services.

It also covers green mobility initiatives and inclusive community development.

Putrajaya’s long-term planning will centre on MADANI values under the Putrajaya Structure Plan 2050.

Dr Zaliha also thanked former president Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud for his leadership since 2022.

She acknowledged his contributions to smart city initiatives and green management.

Fadlun helped establish Putrajaya’s reputation as a modern administrative city.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar announced the appointment yesterday.

Mohd Sakeri will serve a two-year term effective until November 14, 2027.

The 56-year-old previously served as Works Ministry deputy secretary-general for Policy and Development.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematical Economics from Temple University in the United States.

He also earned a Master of Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia. – Bernama
