ADTEC JTM’s 95.5% graduate employability rate last year highlights its success in meeting industry needs through strategic corporate partnerships.
SHAH ALAM: The Advanced Technology College of the Department of Manpower (ADTEC JTM) achieved a 95.5% graduate employability rate last year.
Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said this demonstrates the effectiveness of its training for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) labour market.
Four campuses recorded a perfect 100% graduate employability rate.
These were the Pasir Gudang, Bukit Katil, Kota Kinabalu and Kepala Batas campuses.
Ramanan said 97.2% of employers expressed satisfaction with the employees they recruited from ADTEC.
“All these are outstanding achievements, as not all institutions are able to attain such results,” he told a press conference.
The minister added that ADTEC JTM has partnerships with about 400 companies, including Proton, Petronas and Huawei.
It aims to increase this number to 600 corporate partners by 2030 to ensure employment opportunities for graduates.
The institution has trained more than one million students between 2010 and 2026.
Ramanan said the ministry will strengthen development through funding based on each campus’s specific needs.
This is to ensure ADTEC JTM continues to operate at optimum capacity.
“At the Shah Alam campus, there is a site where a new aircraft hangar will be constructed with an allocation of RM20 million, and work will commence this year,” he said.
During his visit, Ramanan witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between ADTEC JTM and Malaysia Airlines Berhad Engineering Services.
The MoU seeks to provide skills training and employment for students of the Aircraft Maintenance Programme.
