The MADANI Ihsan Squad mission sent essential supplies to Perlis, organised by the Seberang Perai Tengah District Civil Defence Force.
BUKIT MERTAJAM: The MADANI Ihsan Squad Humanitarian Aid Mission has dispatched RM80,000 worth of essential goods to flood victims in Perlis.
Penang Civil Defence Force Director Col (PA) Lokman Hakim Abdul Rahman said the mission was organised by the Seberang Perai Tengah District Civil Defence Force in collaboration with the district office and a parliamentary emergency response team.
He stated that all goods were donated by government agencies, corporate bodies, NGOs and individuals. These included mineral water, disposable diapers, food and personal hygiene items.
“Perlis has been hit by a rather critical flood compared to the last 15 years,” he said after launching the mission at the Jalan Berapit Central Mosque. He described the effort as a sign of concern from the SPT community to ensure victims receive appropriate aid.
The items were transported using a container lorry accompanied by more than 20 people comprising APM members, district office staff and NGO representatives.
