Continuous rain alert issued for multiple states from Dec 5

MetMalaysia warns of continuous rain in several states from Dec 5 to 8, with alert-level warnings for parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an alert-level continuous rain warning for several states.

The warning covers parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah from Dec 5 to 8.

Director-general Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip said continuous rain is forecast in Sabah from Dec 5 to 6.

This affects Sandakan, covering Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan, as well as Kudat.

A similar warning is in effect for Dec 6 to 7 for Kelantan, Terengganu and parts of Pahang.

The affected areas in Kelantan are Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Bachok and Pasir Puteh.

In Pahang, the warning covers Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin.

From Dec 7 to 8, continuous rain is forecast in several districts in Johor and Sarawak.

In Johor, this includes Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru.

The warning in Sarawak covers Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah and Bintulu.

The Sarikei district includes Pakan, Sarikei and Meradong, while Sibu covers Sibu and Selangau.
