Lahad Datu police strengthen bonds with public

The programme featured a range of activities aimed at facilitating direct engagement between the police and the community.

KOTA KINABALU: In a proactive move to enhance public trust and collaboration, the Lahad Datu district police headquarters organised a “Meet Clients Day” at the Mutiara Kasih People’s Housing Programme (PPR) site.

The event was held on November 1 with the theme “We Listen, We Act”, and officiated by district police chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail.

This initiative is a cornerstone of the Royal Malaysian Police’s ongoing community policing strategy, designed to foster a stronger, more cooperative relationship with people.

The programme featured a range of activities aimed at facilitating direct engagement between the police and the community.

Key highlights included an open dialogue session where residents could voice their concerns directly to police personnel.

To provide immediate assistance, special counters were set up for customer service, traffic summons inquiries, and the Amanita initiative which promotes the Volunteer Smartphone Patrol app and community complaint QR codes.

Further strengthening their crime prevention efforts, the police conducted public awareness talks on current safety issues, led by officers from the District Narcotics Crime Investigation Division and Commercial Crime Investigation Division.

Informational exhibitions and the distribution of educational leaflets complemented these talks, providing residents with valuable resources to protect themselves and their community.

The event saw strong attendance from senior police officers, local community leaders, and management representatives of PPR Mutiara Kasih, underscoring a shared commitment to safety and partnership.
