Maxis has fully restored connectivity for 3,000 customers after a fire damaged equipment at a telecommunications tower in Kampung Kelebor.

KUALA KANGSAR: Maxis Bhd has fully restored services for customers affected by a fire at its telecommunications tower in Kampung Kelebor two days ago.

The company said full restoration was achieved at 1.03 am today. This includes all services shared via the Multi-Operator Core Network arrangement.

“Upon confirming that the tower remained structurally sound, our technical team immediately proceeded to replace damaged radio equipment,” Maxis said in a statement.

This action restored connectivity to the affected site and four linked sites. The disruption impacted approximately 3,000 customers in the surrounding area and highway users.

Maxis is working with the Fire and Rescue Department and relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the fire.

The company acknowledged a statement on the incident issued by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission. It reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of network safety and reliability.

“We will continue to adhere to rigorous maintenance protocols, conduct regular technical inspections, and ensure continuous monitoring of our network infrastructure,” it added.
