Melaka approves 147 state land applications in Jasin district

The Melaka government has approved 147 state land applications in Jasin this year, offering affordable premiums to second-generation Felda settlers

JASIN: The Melaka government has approved 147 applications for state land alongside Section 5A Notices in the Jasin district this year.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said this demonstrates the administration’s efficiency and commitment to managing land ownership.

He stated the programme was tangible proof that state land is a catalyst for progress and direct public benefit.

“This effort also clearly reflects the state government’s dedication to understanding the genuine needs of the community,” he said.

He was speaking at the presentation of approval letters to second-generation recipients of Felda Tun Ghafar Bukit Senggeh.

Ab Rauf said the initiative aims to provide settlers’ children the opportunity to own land and build a stable life.

A total of 95 approval letters were presented to those who passed the assessment and vetting process.

He urged all conditions and payment periods in the Section 5A Notices to be complied with for land grants to be issued.

The state government is imposing a land premium rate significantly below market price.

Recipients are only required to pay between RM13,000 and RM29,000 depending on location.

A five percent discount is offered to this year’s recipients who settle payment in full within three months.

This discount applies provided they do not apply for a time extension or request a premium reduction. – Bernama
