PTPTN declares a 4.1% dividend for Simpan SSPN, the highest in 11 years, with a total payout of RM505.68 million.
KUALA LUMPUR: The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has declared a 4.1% dividend for the Simpan SSPN savings scheme for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025 (FY2025), reaching its highest payout rate in 11 years.
The latest rate translates to a total payout of RM505.68 million, which will benefit 6.07 million depositors. This reflects a substantial increase from the RM439.87 million distributed the previous year, when the dividend rate stood at 4.05%.
PTPTN Chairman Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim attributed the fund’s robust performance to its strategic asset allocation and sound financial management.
“The increase is supported by a prudent investment strategy that preserves capital while delivering competitive returns,” she stated during the announcement on Wednesday.
Norliza described that the returns were driven by a balanced portfolio of short- and long-term Syariah-compliant investments in domestic money markets and sukuk instruments.
Simpan SSPN is a state-backed savings programme managed by PTPTN to assist Malaysian families in building financial resources for tertiary education.
Historically, the scheme’s annual dividends have fluctuated between 2.5% and 4.25%, with the highest historical rates recorded between 2012 and 2014.
