The federal government allocates RM17.5 billion for Sabah in 2026 to enhance infrastructure, healthcare, and electricity supply stability

KUALA LUMPUR: The federal government has reaffirmed its commitment to Sabah’s development with a RM17.5 billion allocation for 2026.

This funding is part of continuous efforts to strengthen the well-being of people in the state.

The Ministry of Finance stated that major infrastructure projects, including the RM13.9 billion Pan Borneo Sabah Highway, have been resumed under the MADANI government.

Basic facility improvements are also underway, including the development of the Sabah Heart Centre at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.

The government is bolstering the supply of essentials with RM1.2 billion to ensure electricity supply continuity.

An additional RM765 million is allocated for the Southern Link Transmission Line Project.

This project involves building a new electricity transmission line connecting Sabah’s east and west coasts.

Its primary aim is to stabilise electricity supply across the state. – Bernama
