RPN 2026-2035 to shape quality youths with future skills, says minister

Youth minister says National Education Blueprint 2026-2035 aligns with youth needs, focusing on digital tech, AI, and lifelong learning for a competitive generation

PUTRAJAYA: The National Education Blueprint (RPN) 2026-2035 lays a crucial foundation for shaping a quality generation of Malaysian youths, according to Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari.

He said the blueprint’s emphasis on talent development, future skills, and mastery of digital technology and artificial intelligence is clearly in line with the needs of today’s youth.

“The launch of RPN 2026-2035 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today is a crucial step towards strengthening the country’s education ecosystem,” he said in a statement.

Mohammed Taufiq added that the plan focuses not only on academic achievements but also on character, values, soft skills, leadership and resilience.

A strong educational foundation is key to developing balanced and competitive youth, he stated.

The minister welcomed collaboration between his ministry, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education to ensure continuity in youth development.

This collaboration will cover skill training, leadership, volunteerism, entrepreneurship and employment marketability.

Mohammed Taufiq said the successful implementation of the RPN 2026-2035 would require the commitment and cooperation of all parties.

“This RPN will become a solid foundation in shaping a quality and resilient generation of Malaysian youths,” he said.

He added that this generation will be ready to lead the country to a more sustainable, progressive and prosperous future.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim launched the RPN, which involves the two education ministries.

The plan is an education reform for a future where children have fairer opportunities and are more competitive, according to the prime minister.

It aims to ensure they can build meaningful and dignified lives rooted in values.

The RPN is jointly led by the Ministry of Higher Education through the Malaysian Higher Education Blueprint and the Ministry of Education through the Malaysian Education Plan 2026-2035.

The integrated implementation of both plans under the RPN reflects a comprehensive alignment of national education policies.

This alignment ensures the continuity of human capital development from school level to higher education.
