A powerful 6.4 magnitude earthquake has hit the southern Philippines, with no tsunami threat to Malaysia confirmed by MetMalaysia.
KUALA LUMPUR: A strong earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck the southern Philippines today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported the quake occurred at 11.03 am.
It was located at a depth of 67 kilometres, approximately 129 kilometres southeast of Bislig, Philippines.
MetMalaysia confirmed the earthquake poses no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
