Terengganu KPDN seizes RM2.8 million in products for 2025

Terengganu KPDN seized over RM2.8 million in products after 57,326 inspections, issuing RM353,375 in compounds and RM173,200 in fines.

KUALA NERUS: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) seized over RM2.8 million worth of products in various operations across Terengganu this year.

State KPDN director Mohd Mufsi Lat said the seizures followed 57,326 inspections on 17,923 business premises, including shopping malls, markets, grocery shops and restaurants.

Compounds totalling RM353,375 and fines of RM173,200 were issued under the Consumer Protection Act 2021, the Control of Supplies Act 1961 and the Weights and Measures Act 1972.

“A total of 20,383 inspections were conducted in Kuala Terengganu; followed by Dungun (13,664); Besut (10,658); Kemaman (7,472) and Hulu Terengganu (5,149),” he said.

He was speaking at the launch of the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) for Christmas 2025 here.

Nine items were listed under the new festive price control scheme.

These include imported bone-in lamb meat, imported round cabbage, imported China carrots, tomatoes, green peppers, red chili, imported potatoes, big red onions and big yellow onions.
