DAP names Ho Weng Wah as Temiang candidate for Negeri Sembilan polls, replacing incumbent Ng Chin Tsai.
SEREMBAN: DAP has named Transport Minister Anthony Loke’s political secretary, Ho Weng Wah, as its candidate for the Temiang state seat in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election, replacing incumbent Ng Chin Tsai.
Loke, who is DAP secretary-general, said Ho is one of three new faces fielded by the party for the election, alongside Lee Kai Yet in Mambau and S. Mugunthan in Seremban Jaya, while the remaining eight incumbent assemblymen will defend their seats.
He said the party had conducted a comprehensive assessment ahead of the election, including identifying potential new candidates as part of its efforts to rejuvenate the party.
“However, for this election, we have adopted a more cautious approach by retaining most of our incumbents, who have strong service records and are well known to the voters.
“This is a critical election. We cannot afford to take risks in any constituency,” he told reporters after announcing Ho as the Temiang candidate here today.
Loke said Ho, 42, a Temiang native, had served as his aide since 2000 before being appointed his political secretary at the Transport Ministry in 2022.
“He is a responsible individual with credibility and integrity. He has managed all matters relating to constituency allocations for my Seremban parliamentary constituency efficiently, transparently and without any issues,” he said.
