PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin announces 41 candidates for Sabah polls, with 33 from Bersatu, five from PAS and three from Gerakan

KOTA KINABALU: Perikatan Nasional will contest 41 out of 73 state seats in the upcoming Sabah state election.

PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced the candidates at a ceremony in ITCC here today.

The coalition is fielding 33 candidates from Bersatu, five from PAS and three from Gerakan.

Notable candidates include Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee in N48 Sugut and Datuk Dr Aliakhbar Gulasan in N16 Karambunai.

Other prominent names are former minister Mohd Fazriee Awang in N53 Sekong and Francis Mojikon in N26 Moyog.

The candidate for N35 Sindumin is Dg Nor Syafiqah Abdul Hamid, completing the list of 41 contenders.

Muhyiddin expressed confidence in PN’s ability to secure substantial support from Sabah voters.

The Sabah state election is scheduled for November 29, with early voting on November 25.

Nomination day for all candidates was completed earlier this week without major incidents.

PN’s participation marks its first major electoral test in Sabah since the formation of the coalition.

The coalition is positioning itself as a viable alternative to the incumbent state government.

Political analysts are closely watching PN’s performance in this east Malaysian state.

The election outcome could significantly influence national political dynamics. – Bernama
