The government’s RM800 million early schooling aid for students is funded by savings from targeted subsidies, ensuring no child misses school due to financial hardship.
KULIM: The government’s RM800 million allocation for the Early Schooling Aid (BAP) is funded by savings from the implementation of targeted subsidies.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said this significant commitment ensures no child drops out of school due to financial constraints.
He stated the savings from reduced subsidy leakages allow for more prudent national fund management.
The resulting surplus is then redistributed directly to the people through initiatives like BAP.
“God willing, measures like this will continue to be strengthened,” Saifuddin said in a Facebook post.
“What matters most is that the benefits reach the intended hands.”
He visited SMK Taman Mutiara in Karangan today to present a mock check for BAP worth RM116,400.
For Kedah alone, a total of RM50.5 million has been allocated for the aid.
This allocation will benefit 336,669 students across the state.
