The number of SARA partner stores has grown from 700 to 8,700, helping recipients buy essentials with MyKad across urban and rural areas.

KUALA LUMPUR: The number of Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) partner stores has increased dramatically to 8,700 outlets as of November 3, 2025.

This figure is up significantly from just 700 outlets recorded in 2024, according to Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying.

She said the network includes supermarkets, grocery stores, cooperative shops and mini markets.

These stores are located in urban, rural and remote areas to ensure recipients have easy access to assistance.

“The government remains consistent in protecting and ensuring that small traders and private grocery stores, including cooperative shops, also benefit economically from the implementation of SARA,” Lim stated during a Special Chamber session in the Dewan Rakyat.

She was responding to a query from Tan Hong Pin (PH-Bakri) about expanding small retailer participation in the MyKasih ecosystem.

Lim noted that on-ground SARA programmes are carried out together with the Jualan Rahmah programme.

This approach facilitates access and ensures grocery stores and supermarkets in rural and interior areas also benefit.

Recipients benefit from lower-priced goods and can purchase essential items using their MyKad at SARA partner locations.

These partners are also participants in the Jualan Rahmah Programme and primarily consist of privately-owned grocery stores. – Bernama
