Selangor maintains flexible hours for civil servants during Ramadan

Selangor has not set specific Ramadan work hour changes for civil servants, with existing flexible arrangements to continue based on operational needs.

BESTARI JAYA: The Selangor state government has not implemented any specific changes to operating hours for civil servants during the upcoming Ramadan period.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said existing flexible working arrangements would continue based on current needs and circumstances.

He stated that any further decision on potential changes would be discussed with state secretary Datuk Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin.

“Any decision on specific changes will be made later as arrangements for civil servants fall under the state secretary’s jurisdiction,” Amirudin told a press conference.

He added that the government would organise the arrangements “as best as possible”.

The matter requires careful consideration as some departments must operate continuously and cannot be granted flexible hours.

This is due to the critical services they provide to the public, the Menteri Besar explained.

He cited the Selangor Water Management Authority (LUAS) as an example, which must ensure sufficient raw water supply.

Amirudin noted that any disruption to such services would have a major impact on the public.

He was speaking after officiating the groundbreaking ceremony of the Bestari Large-Scale Solar Project.
