Amazon tests 30-minute grocery delivery in two US cities

Amazon launches ultra-fast delivery trial in Seattle and Philadelphia, offering groceries and essentials in 30 minutes for Prime members.

SAN FRANCISCO: Amazon has begun testing an “ultra-fast” delivery service in two major US cities.

The trial allows select shoppers to receive groceries and household essentials at their doors within 30 minutes.

An “Amazon Now” feature in the Amazon app is available to users in parts of Seattle, Washington, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Shoppers can select items like milk, eggs, fresh produce, medicine, and consumer electronics for the rapid delivery.

“Thousands of everyday household essentials and fresh grocery items can now arrive at customers’ doorsteps in minutes,” Amazon said in an online post.

Delivery fees start at USD 3.99 for Amazon Prime members.

Non-subscribers to the Prime service will pay USD 13.99 for the ultra-fast delivery option.
