Russian strikes kill four, wound dozens in Ukraine attacks

Russian drone and missile strikes kill four, wound 23 in Ukraine, hitting Odesa and Sloviansk as Zelensky says attacks undermine peace efforts.

ODESA: Russian strikes killed four people and wounded nearly two dozen others in attacks across Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said the bombardment undermined ongoing peace efforts. “Every such Russian strike erodes the diplomacy that is still ongoing and undermines the efforts of partners who are helping to end this war,” he wrote on social media.

A married couple, aged 45 and 48, were killed in Sloviansk in the eastern Donetsk region. Their 20-year-old son survived the attack in the region claimed by the Kremlin.

A Russian drone barrage killed one person and wounded 23 in the southern port city of Odesa. Regional governor Oleg Kiper said Russia launched more than 50 attack drones on the region.

The attack damaged dozens of residential buildings, a church and schools. Those wounded included two girls and a woman who was 39 weeks pregnant.

In a separate drone attack in Zaporizhzhia region, a 58-year-old person was killed in their home. The Ukrainian air force said Russia launched 165 attack drones overnight.

An infrastructure facility in the western Lviv region was also hit. Russian forces are advancing across the front, with the defence ministry announcing the capture of two more villages.

Russian attacks have recently knocked out power, lighting and heat to millions of Ukrainians across the country.
