A Ukrainian drone attack on a vehicle in Russia’s Belgorod region killed one man and seriously injured a woman and a four-year-old child, according to local authorities.
BELGOROD: One man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on a vehicle in Russia’s Belgorod region on Sunday.
Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced the casualties on Telegram.
He said a woman and a four-year-old child were hospitalised in serious condition following the strike.
Firefighters extinguished a blaze that engulfed the car after the attack.
Reuters could not independently verify the governor’s report.
In a separate statement, Russia’s defence ministry claimed its forces downed 42 Ukrainian drones on Sunday morning.
This followed an earlier claim of destroying 90 drones overnight, including three heading for Moscow.
Ukrainian drone attacks frequently target Russia’s border regions, including Belgorod.
