Ukrainian drones strike Russian oil depot in Krasnodar

Ukrainian drone attacks damaged a key Russian oil storage facility in Krasnodar, causing fires and injuries amid ongoing strikes on energy infrastructure.

MOSCOW: Ukrainian drone strikes damaged an oil depot in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region, causing multiple fires and wounding two people.

Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said the attack targeted a storage facility in the Black Sea village of Volna.

“The most difficult situation is in the village of Volna,” Kondratyev stated. He confirmed a petroleum tank, a warehouse, and terminals were damaged in the assault.

More than 100 firefighters were deployed to extinguish several blazes at the site. The village of Volna is located near Moscow-annexed Crimea and houses Russia’s Port of Taman, a key hub for oil, coal, and grain shipments.

Ukraine has systematically targeted Russian oil infrastructure throughout the ongoing conflict. In a separate incident, a private house in the Black Sea resort of Sochi was also damaged.

Sochi has been largely spared from the attacks affecting other southern Russian cities. Russia’s defence ministry claimed it downed 88 Ukrainian drones over southern and border regions early on Sunday.
