WASHINGTON: The US Department of State has ordered non-emergency government employees and their family members to leave Niger.
The order was issued on Friday due to heightened safety risks in the country.

“The US government cannot offer routine or emergency services to US citizens outside of Niamey due to safety risks,” the department stated in a travel advisory.
The advisory limits the US government’s ability to assist its citizens beyond the capital. – Reuters
