The US State Department offers $10 million for information on Iran’s new supreme leader and other top officials, citing their command of global terror activities.

WASHINGTON: The US State Department has offered a USD 10 million reward for information about Iran’s new supreme leader and other senior officials.

A list of 10 individuals includes Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and Minister of Intelligence and Security Esmail Khatib.

The department stated these individuals command elements of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

It accused the IRGC of planning, organising and executing terrorism worldwide.

The reward was announced under the State Department’s “Rewards for Justice” programme.

This programme offers cash for intelligence leading to the capture or prosecution of wanted individuals.

The department urged tipsters to send information via secure channels like Tor or Signal.

It said such information could make individuals eligible for relocation and a financial reward.

Mojtaba Khamenei became supreme leader after his father, Ali Khamenei, was killed in a bombing.

That attack occurred on 28 February at the start of the US-Israeli war against Iran.
