KUALA LUMPUR: Esports company, Todak Studios last night officially launched online game 'Police Sentri' which reminds players of childhood games.

Todak Studios Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ahmad Fadli Ahmad Dahlan, better known as Neo Todak, said ‘Police Sentri’ is derived from a traditional Malaysian game with the concept of police and thieves for children in the 90s.

"Now, we know that the new generation likes to play with gadgets, and we do not want this game to be forgotten. Even if we want to teach it now it is the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, so that's why this Police Sentri (game) is quite unique.

"This game is simple because we want to cater to children and we want to get into mobile gaming," he said at the launching ceremony which was carried 'live' on his Facebook, last night.

Meanwhile, Todak Studios founder, Khairul Azlan Zainal Ariffin, better known as Lan Todak, said the game was completed by his team in very challenging conditions, where all his employees had to work from home and complete the game within the stipulated time.

He also hopes that this game will be a starting point where his team will produce many more online games in the future following the good productivity momentum felt among the Todak Studios team.

Police Sentri is basically played online with a total of 10 players divided into two teams, namely to be police or thieves.

Just like in the childhood one, the police have to catch all the thieves and put them in jail while the thieves have to escape or hold a bag full of stolen money away from the police until the time expires to win the game.

The game can be downloaded at https://todakstudios.itch.io/police-sentri?download for computers and is also ready for downloading on the Apps Store (for smartphones).- Bernama
