A woman has dropped her civil lawsuit accusing UFC star Conor McGregor of sexual assault at a 2023 NBA game in Miami.
MIAMI: A civil lawsuit accusing UFC fighter Conor McGregor of sexual assault has been voluntarily dismissed in Florida.
The woman, identified in court documents as a 49-year-old Wall Street executive, had accused McGregor of sexual battery following an NBA game in June 2023.
Her lawyers filed a notice of voluntary dismissal at a Florida court on Tuesday.
Prosecutors had previously declined to pursue criminal charges related to the alleged incident at the Miami Heat game.
McGregor, 37, had consistently denied the allegations through his representatives.
The lawsuit claimed the alleged assault occurred in a men’s restroom at the Kaseya Center after the Miami Heat played the Denver Nuggets.
McGregor was attending the NBA finals game as part of a sponsorship deal for a pain relief spray.
In a separate case in Ireland last year, McGregor was found liable for sexual assault and ordered to pay approximately $250,000 in damages.
The Irish fighter recently received an 18-month suspension for missing three drug tests within a year.
Backdated to September 2024, the suspension allows McGregor to return to fighting by March 2026.
His potential return could coincide with a UFC event reportedly scheduled for June 14 at the White House. – AFP
