Uprising stars tee off at PGM Penang Closed Championship

PGM Penang Closed Championship is hosted by Bukit Jawi Golf Resort sees most of the uprising stars competing here this week.

During the Monday Qualifier today, Afdlin Mikhail and Zubair Firdaus top the leaderboard at one under par (-1). Another eight players earned their spot to play in this week Championship.

Defending Champion, Ben Leong is back to maintain his winning charm here. Also playing this week is two time Champion at this course, veteran Danny Chia.

Others are Edven Ying, PGM 2025 Order of Merit winner, Ervin Chang, Shahriffuddin Ariffin, Amir Nazrin and amateur Anson Yeo gearing up to give their best this week.

On the Ladies Championship, Liyana Durisic with a back to back win will be aiming to take home another trophy here.

Zulaikah Nasser who loss on a play off here last year is set to capture the podium finish this time around.

78 players will be teeing off tomorrow in round one from 07:30am onwards. PGM Penang Closed Championship 2026 offers a prize purse of RM180,000 and RM30,000 for the Ladies Championship. Hosted by Bukit Jawi Golf Resort and this week tournament is played on Hill Course (par 72).
