WELCOMING 2024, the year of Dragon, Eu Yan Sang wishes everyone “a head start on the year of abundance of opportunities and personal progress”.
The company remembers that every progress that it achieves is based on kind-heartedness, or ren in Mandarin Chinese, and with a humane and caring attitude, a set of rituals or li is the guidelines of its behaviour.
“We are kind-hearted because we have others’ well-being in mind, and we follow rituals in our actions. Such attitude laid the foundation for EYS’s century-old business model to serve the motto of Caring for Mankind and to promote Gift of Gratitude,” said EYS Malaysia managing director Eric Chiu during the launch.
He added that looking back in history, rituals do change in different era and the company makes adjustments every now and then when there are changes in its roles and circumstances. What remains unchanged is the company’s attitude to show respect and gratitude.
“Year in, year out, EYS harnesses sincerity, convention and innovativeness in its design work displayed in hundred types of hampers and gifts. And customers find the combinations to be appropriate for various occasions.”

Eu Yan Sang has always been the outstanding player in gifts market. Since year 2000, EYS broke fresh ground by combining stage play and modelling in presenting hampers and gift boxes.
In 2022, EYS marked another new milestone to be the pioneer in 3D creation of hamper clusters.
In 2024, other than modelling, EYS also makes good use of AI technology to create a little AI Dragon to present Chinese New Year songs during the celebration of festive season throughout Malaysia.
The different types of gifts are created by AI technology, which also helps present EYS’s charity videos of each year to celebrate the happiness of reunion during the lunar new year.
In addition to creating new styles in gift giving, EYS is also actively playing its role in charitable cause.
A Bucket of Gold 2024 Programme aims to raise funds for Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat (PKKIHL). The centre was founded in 1995 and they are raising funds to build an activity centre to cater the needs of more children with special needs.

“PKKIHL provides education for all, irrespective of background. We believe that any possibility is feasible. We’re running this centre with such belief,” said Shirley, dean of PKKIHL, during an interview.
“These children must not be taken lightly. They might have a more difficult start compared to others. Given the correct education and opportunities, they will be able to improve their capabilities and strive for limitless possibilities,” she added.
The children attending PKKIHL and their parents are handling their challenges positively. Through this fundraising campaign, such attitude represents the message of encouragement from EYS to fellow Malaysians who are also working hard to make a living. Needless to say, the goodwill traces back to mission to initiate A Bucket of Gold programme in the earlier years.
From now on until 24 February 2024, customers from all walks of life are welcome to visit any EYS store to purchase A Bucket of Gold. Part of the profits will be channelled to PKKIHL. A donation box to receive cash or cheque will also be available in every EYS store.
