A RM100 million transformation has propelled Alamanda Putrajaya into a vibrant, future-ready lifestyle destination, marking a major evolution from a beloved community mall into a true placemaking engine for Putrajaya and its surrounding secondary trade areas.

“We didn’t just want to renovate a building, we wanted to reignite the city’s social heartbeat by creating a placemaking engine, a welcoming space where experiences take priority over simple transactions. By blending world-class ‘retailtainment’ with essential community services, we have transformed Alamanda into a future-ready destination where families connect, celebrate and belong,” said Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd CEO Francis Tan.

The revitalisation has drawn more than 60 new tenants, bringing an exciting mix of entertainment, retail and dining options designed to elevate the mall into a comprehensive lifestyle hub. The redevelopment also increased Alamanda’s net lettable area by 27%, adding 199,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, allowing for a more diverse and dynamic tenant mix.

Leading the charge is ESCAPE Putrajaya, a sprawling 151,548 sq ft outdoor adventure park that now serves as the mall’s “crown jewel”. As a unique leisure anchor, the attraction delivers a “retailtainment” experience that blends adventure, play and nature, making it a major draw for families and tourists alike. Other key anchor tenants include Aeon Big and Parkson.

Other new entertainment highlights include a 10-hall TGV Cinemas and Manekineko Karaoke, adding fresh avenues for leisure and social experiences, alongside mini anchor offerings such as Mr DIY Plus, Rasa Food Arena, Cold Storage, KKV and U-Bowl X, which further strengthen the mall’s everyday relevance and appeal.

The dining scene has been expanded with crowd-favourites, such as Cili Kampung, Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties, Krispy Kreme, DubuYo, Nando’s, Sushi King, Richeese Factory, Oriental Kopi, ChaTraMue, Bread History, Chakri Village Thai Fusion Cuisine.

On the retail front, the mall now houses a stronger lifestyle lineup, including international brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Puma, Bonia, Bath & Body Works, Skechers, Kiehl’s, Levi’s, Clarks and Guess, reinforcing Alamanda’s position as a modern shopping destination.

The upgrade is not only aesthetic but strategic. The mall boosted its occupancy and grew beyond 170 tenants, achieving a 95% occupancy rate to-date, signalling renewed retail confidence and commercial strength. The project’s national importance was underscored by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the mall’s relaunch in February 2025.

Alamanda also made history by introducing Malaysia’s first Sentuhan Madani kiosk, enabling the public to access over 100 digital government services beyond normal working hours, an initiative that aligns with the government’s push for accessible, people-centric digitalisation.

Enhancements to the mall’s physical environment include an upgraded interiors featuring sleek marble flooring and modern glass balustrades, creating a brighter, more sophisticated shopping atmosphere designed for long-term relevance.

With its blend of new experiences, elevated design and community-first initiatives, the new Alamanda stands as a benchmark for modern placemaking, reshaping Putrajaya’s retail and lifestyle landscape for the next decade and beyond.
