IF you were to think cosplay, you’ think Star Wars costumes and good looking girls in Cardcaptor Sakura outfits. But for Japanese YouTuber iChang who was recently in Malaysia, cosplay meant local Malaysian costumes.
And nope, she didn’t put on a saree, cheongsam or baju kebaya — her local costume was ‘Malaysian girl goes grocery shopping’. If you’re reading this and saying, “there’s no such costume”, you’re probably wearing it right now.
Getting the outfit together wasn’t a difficult task for iChang, she managed to buy the look in Tesco for RM36.80. And all it took was a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops. “Something that they wear at home,“ the YouTuber told her husband when figuring out what to buy.
Oh, and when iChang tried out her costume in the fitting room, she came looking no different than that girl who lives in Cheras.
