Woman goes viral for selling nasi kerabu despite knee-deep floodwaters

THE floods are back. And the heavy rainfall isn’t just affecting states such as Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang but even our neighbouring countries, southern Thailand have been taking a hit as well.

However, a TikTok video of a woman selling nasi kerabu, fried noodles and various other dishes in the front of her house during the flood has gone viral.

She can be seen talking to two customers who seem just as unfazed as the floodwaters reach almost waist-high.

The video was posted on the TikTok account @userp422ac68zn and according to the user, the incident occurred in Narathiwat, one of the southern provinces of Thailand. The video which was posted on Dec 26 has already garnered 4.9 million views and 4,886 comments.

Netizens were impressed by the woman’s persistence to continue selling food in such conditions.

“Hope everyone stays safe. Despite the floods, we have to continue finding a way to get an income,” commented one of the TikTok users.

“The real definition of life must go on,” commented another.
