THE beloved Indonesian rock band Ungu is making a highly anticipated return to Kuala Lumpur for a special 30th year anniversary concert, urging its fans to don the band’s iconic colour, purple.
Dubbed Mayapada Ungu Live In Kuala Lumpur – 30 Hits Timeless, the concert is scheduled to take place at Mega Star Arena, Sungei Wang Plaza, KL on Feb 25, 2024.
Organised by Icon Entertainment and sponsored by AKE Group, the band, consisting of vocalist Pasha, guitarists Enda and Oncy, bassist Makki and drummer Rowman, pledges to create “1,001 memories or more” for its Malaysian fans during the three-hour concert.

“Returning to hold a concert in Malaysia, which is like our second home, gives us great pleasure. After discussions with the organisers, we have come to an agreement that Ungu Live in Kuala Lumpur will showcase 30 of Ungu’s finest creations for our fans, God willing,” said the band’s frontman Pasha during a press conference at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, KLCC.
AKE Group chief executive officer Datuk Bakhtiar Aliff said, “We are aware that Ungu and the fans in Malaysia are very close and the fans here have also played a lot of roles in supporting its career since breaking into the market here more than a decade ago.”
“As a result, even though Ungu’s career has included many concerts or performances in Malaysia, we are not afraid to bring the band back to this second home in 2024,” he said.
This marks the second collaboration between AKE Group and AKE Seni, following its participation in the Tombo Ati Ridho Ilahi - Opick and Sakti concert, which was held at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on Nov 11. The concert left a lasting impact, with numerous meaningful moments for the audience.
Ungu, known for its songs Cinta Dalam Hati, Kekasih Gelapku, Demi Waktu, Tercipta Untukmu and Andai Ku Tahu, will also perform a medley of Malaysian and Indonesian hits as a special treat for the audience.

“We hope that fans won’t miss the upcoming concert. We aspire for it to become another memorable event for all,” added Pasha.
Tickets for the event are available for purchase, with prices ranging from RM138 to RM338. Interested individuals can obtain tickets through ticket2u.com.my or by contacting 012-6530700.
