STOCKHOLM: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Sweden on Wednesday for a defence export announcement with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
Their meeting will take place in Linkoping, where defence company Saab manufactures the Gripen fighter jet and other military equipment.
Zelensky and Kristersson will hold a joint press conference following their discussions to reveal details about the defence export arrangement.
Kristersson emphasised Sweden’s commitment to Ukrainian strength and capability in resisting Russian aggression through a social media statement.
Sweden had previously halted plans to supply Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine after partner nations prioritised American F-16 aircraft instead.
The joint press conference is scheduled for 3:00 pm local time (1300 GMT) in Linkoping. – AFP
