The woman shared that she currently weighs 133kg and has been struggling with how people around her treat her.

A Malaysian woman’s emotional confession about her weight and loneliness has struck a chord online after she revealed that even her closest friends have begun to distance themselves from her.

In a social media post on Threads, the woman shared that she currently weighs 133kg and has been struggling with how people around her treat her.

“I just want to know if there is any man who would want to marry an overweight woman like me,” she wrote, adding that she has recently started intermittent fasting (IF) in hopes of losing weight and regaining her confidence.

However, it was her reflection on friendships that drew the most attention.

“I realised it’s not just men who don’t like me,” she said. “Even my female friends have started to pull away since I became overweight.”

The post quickly went viral, drawing thousands of reactions and comments from netizens, many of whom offered advice, encouragement, and shared their own weight-loss journeys.

One user, @raihanrahwani, encouraged her to focus on self-improvement rather than seeking validation from others.

“Don’t think about whether people want you or not first, just do it for yourself, babe,” she wrote. “Keep improving yourself every day — eat healthier, exercise, and take care of your appearance. Put on some makeup and dress well every day. You’ll end up loving yourself so much.”

Meanwhile, @sabunbalm.kl suggested seeking professional guidance but cautioned against choosing the wrong coach.

“Get a personal coach to help you lose weight, but make sure you choose the right one,” the user wrote, adding that their own experience and proper guidance helped them lose up to 2–3kg per week.
