Che Ku Mohd Izmuddin said the selection was based on the riders’ reputations and achievements at national and international levels.
“For example, Zeb Kyffin was crowned the United Kingdom Domestic Rider of the Year in 2023,” he said at the TSG 2026 Team Introduction Ceremony.
“He also emerged as the champion of the 7th stage of the 2025 Le Tour de Langkawi, which was the first professional victory in his profile.”
Apart from the new signings, TSG has retained 10 other riders to compete in approximately 30 races this season.
The seven local riders are Nur Amirul Fakhruddin Marzuki, Wan Abdul Rahman Hamdan, Mohamad Nur Aiman Mohd Zariff, Muhammad Shahmir Aiman Abd Halim, Kee Zhe Yie, Muhammad Nur Rosli, and Muhammad Haizam Mohd Shabri.
TSG is also retaining three imported riders: Adne Willemjan Van Engelen from the Netherlands, Mathias Bjorn Bregnhoj from Denmark, and Vadim Denisovich Pronskiy from Kazakhstan.
The riders who were dropped are Zuladri Amin Zulkurnain, Metkel Eyob, Anatolii Budiak, Aiman Cahyadi, and the retired Mohd Harrif Salleh.
Che Ku Mohd Izmuddin noted that TSG finished the 2025 season as the third-best team in Asia and the 37th-best out of 206 world-class teams.
For the 2026 season, the team aims to reclaim its title as the best team in Asia and achieve a podium finish in the Pro 2.0 class Le Tour de Langkawi.
“We will strive to reclaim the Asian champion title that we have held for four consecutive years, starting in 2021,” he said.
TSG will face eight phase-one races starting January 19, aiming to collect maximum points.
The team has secured RM11.1 million in sponsorship from 24 companies for the season. – Bernama
