Lindsey Vonn launches social media hunt for missing ski pole

Retired ski champion Lindsey Vonn appeals on social media after a personalised ski pole goes missing in Italy ahead of a World Cup event.

TARVISIO: Retired ski champion Lindsey Vonn has turned to social media to find a missing piece of equipment ahead of a World Cup event.

Vonn posted a plea on X after losing a personalised ski pole in a parking lot in Tarvisio, Italy.

“Someone took my pole in the parking lot today in Tarvisio. If you have seen it please respond to this. Thank you,” Vonn wrote.

The post included a photo of the matching pole, which features her initials on the hand strap.

The 41-year-old American, a favourite for next month’s Milano-Cortina Olympics, retired in 2019 but made a comeback last year following a partial knee replacement.

She has since enjoyed a fairy-tale return to competition, defying age and expectation.

Vonn became the oldest World Cup winner in history and continued her form with a downhill victory in Zauchensee, Austria last week.

That win marked her fourth podium from four downhills this season, cementing her World Cup lead.
