Anwar highlights justice and humility in Isra’ and Mi’raj message

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim links the Isra’ and Mi’raj to principles of justice, harmony, and humility in governance and society.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says one of the momentous events in Prophet Muhammad’s journey of Isra’ and Mi’raj was the acceptance of the command to perform the five daily prayers.

He stated that prayer is a core act of worship with profound effects on the individual, family, society, and nation.

Anwar elaborated by citing the classical work ‘Munyatul Musolli’ by leading Islamic scholar Syeikh Daud Al-Fatani.

“In the chapter ‘Tatmim al-Fa’idah’, Syeikh Daud discusses the act of prayer, but beyond that, relates it to the principle of justice,” he said in a Facebook post.

The Prime Minister described justice as being about balance and existing alongside global convivencia, where humanity lives together in peace.

He emphasised that efforts to achieve justice are a shared responsibility for Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

Anwar called on all parties to continue preserving a harmonious and peaceful way of life.

He urged the rejection of prejudice, false stereotypes, and narratives of hostility that could destroy societal harmony.

“At the same time, we must remain humble and modest, because we may not have the right answers,” he added.

Anwar concluded that even when answers are obtained, one should not be too hasty to regard them as conclusive solutions. – Bernama
