Over 500 development projects in Kelantan, with a total allocation of RM27.46 billion, are being monitored by the Prime Minister’s Department.
KOTA BHARU: The Prime Minister’s Department’s Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU JPM) is currently monitoring 500 development and infrastructure projects in Kelantan.
ICU JPM director for Kelantan Jasri Kasim said the projects comprise 118 new initiatives and 382 extension projects.
He stated the total allocation channelled through the Fifth Rolling Plan under the 12th Malaysia Plan is RM27.46 billion.
“Among the projects currently being monitored and implemented are the expansion of Jalan Pasir Hor in Kota Bharu, the development of Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP), as well as the upgrading of schools and health clinics,” he told reporters.
Jasri added that the unit is closely monitoring all projects to ensure completion according to schedule.
He said appropriate action will be taken if any delays occur based on the specific issues involved.
The completion of these projects is expected to significantly improve the well-being of Kelantan residents.
Jasri highlighted anticipated benefits in economic growth, social development and employment opportunities.
He was speaking after officiating the “Kampung Angkat MADANI” programme at Kampung Guchil Bayam.
Earlier, he said nearly 10,000 residents from four villages are beneficiaries under the village adoption programme.
The involved villages are Kampung Guchil Bayam and Kampung Sungai Keladi in Kota Bharu.
Kampung Belimbing and Kampung Pangkal Manak in Tanah Merah are also part of the programme.
Various development initiatives and basic infrastructure repairs are being prioritised in these areas.
Works in Kampung Guchil Bayam include upgrading cemetery fencing, drainage systems and village roads.
House repair assistance for underprivileged residents registered under the eKasih system is also provided.
Jasri said additional projects like road maintenance and park improvements are planned.
These aim to enhance safety, ease of movement and community spaces for residents.
He said the programme reflects the MADANI government’s ‘whole-of-government’ approach.
This approach emphasises effective coordination among ministries, departments and agencies.
The goal is to ensure community basic needs are met in a structured and focused manner. – Bernama
