MITRA kini di bawah Kementerian Sumber Manusia, kata Ramanan

Unit Transformasi Masyarakat India Malaysia (MITRA) kini dipindahkan ke KESUMA bagi pelaksanaan inisiatif lebih tersusun dan berkesan.

PUTRAJAYA: Unit Transformasi Masyarakat India Malaysia (MITRA) kini dipindahkan ke bawah Kementerian Sumber Manusia (KESUMA).

Menteri Sumber Manusia Datuk Seri R Ramanan berkata keputusan itu telah dipersetujui oleh Jemaah Menteri baru-baru ini.

Beliau menyampaikan penghargaan kepada Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim dan Jemaah Menteri atas amanah besar itu.

“KESUMA akan menjalankan tanggungjawab ini dengan sebaik mungkin,” katanya dalam satu majlis di sini.

Menurut KESUMA, pemindahan itu bertujuan memastikan perancangan dan pelaksanaan inisiatif masyarakat India lebih tersusun dan berkesan.

Inisiatif itu selaras dengan ekosistem pembangunan modal insan negara di bawah Kerajaan MADANI.

MITRA pada asalnya dikenali sebagai unit khas Pembangunan Sosioekonomi Komuniti India (SEDIC).

Fungsinya termasuk mengenal pasti isu semasa dan melaksanakan inisiatif pembangunan sosioekonomi masyarakat India.

Ia juga menyelaras kerjasama antara kerajaan dan pihak swasta untuk pembangunan holistik.

Ramanan menegaskan tiada konflik wujud selagi aspek tatakelola dan peraturan dipatuhi.

“Kita akan patuh kepada program yang kita ingin laksanakan dan program diumumkan,” katanya.

Beliau memberi jaminan bahawa tiada konflik akan wujud sekiranya syarat program dipatuhi.

Dalam majlis sama, Ramanan menyerahkan bantuan Fasa Pertama Program Dharma MADANI.

Bantuan RM20,000 diberikan kepada setiap satu daripada 155 buah kuil.

Jumlah keseluruhan peruntukan yang disalurkan ialah RM3.1 juta.
