Kastam gagalkan cubaan seludup bir, cerut bernilai RM5.75 juta

Kastam Selangor gagalkan dua cubaan seludup bir, cerut dan beras bernilai RM5.75 juta di Pelabuhan Klang, siasatan di bawah Akta Kastam 1967.

KLANG: Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia (JKDM) Selangor menggagalkan cubaan menyeludup bir, cerut dan beras berjumlah RM5.75 juta.

Pemeriksaan dilakukan menerusi dua pemeriksaan berasingan di Pelabuhan Barat dan Pelabuhan Utara di sini bulan lepas.

Pengarah Kastam Selangor Mohamad Azhar Ahmad Paharazi (gambar) berkata pemeriksaan pertama ke atas sebuah kontena di Pelabuhan Barat pada 18 Dis menemukan 37,128 liter bir bernilai RM1.39 juta.

Siasatan awal mendapati dagangan berkenaan dipercayai tidak mempunyai permit import yang sah.

Dagangan itu telah mengemukakan deskripsi yang tidak tepat dan dikesan memasuki pelabuhan pada 18 Nov dari sebuah negara di rantau Asia.

“Pengimportan minuman keras tertakluk kepada permit import yang dikeluarkan Ketua Pengarah Kastam sebagaimana digariskan di dalam Butiran 67, Bahagian I, Jadual Ketiga, Perintah Kastam (Larangan Mengenai Import) 2023,” katanya.

Pemeriksaan kedua yang dilakukan ke atas sebuah kontena di Pelabuhan Utara pada 29 Dis berjaya menemukan 6,250 kilogram cerut dan 3,900 kg beras bernilai RM4.35 juta.

Siasatan turut mendapati barangan berkenaan telah diikrarkan secara tidak benar sebagai kasut bagi mengelak keperluan permit import.

“Siasatan awal mendapati kontena berkenaan tiba di Pelabuhan Klang pada 12 Okt lepas dan dagangan itu juga berasal dari sebuah negara di Asia,” katanya.

Mohamad Azhar berkata cerut berkenaan disyaki untuk memenuhi pasaran warga asing di sini.

Beras berkemungkinan untuk pasaran umum dan kes disiasat di bawah Seksyen 135(1)(a) Akta Kastam 1967.
