King Charles warns world is ‘going backwards’ on climate

King Charles III says the world is ‘rapidly going backwards’ on climate and biodiversity in a new documentary, urging faster action to repair the damage

WINDSOR: King Charles III has warned the world is “rapidly going backwards” in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss.

The British monarch made the comments in a new documentary, “Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision”, which premiered at Windsor Castle.

“I’ve said that for the last 40 years but anyway, there we are,” a visibly frustrated Charles noted in the film.

He added that people must understand the dual crisis of climate change and biodiversity loss, stating, “We’re actually destroying our means of survival, all the time.”

The king urged for accelerated efforts to repair the damage, saying, “To put that back together again is possible, but we should have been doing it long ago. We’ve got to do it as fast as we can now.”

The feature-length documentary, narrated by actress Kate Winslet, charts Charles’s decades of environmental advocacy.

It was filmed over seven months across four continents and includes candid access to his private home at Highgrove.

The film spotlights the work of his charity, The King’s Foundation, and its sustainability projects at Dumfries House in Scotland.

Charles and Queen Camilla attended a screening at Windsor Castle ahead of the film’s global release on Amazon Prime on February 6.
