Former champion boxer Gervonta Davis arrested in Miami on allegations of assault, kidnapping, and emotional distress by an ex-partner.
FORMER champion boxer Gervonta Davis has been arrested in Miami following allegations of physical assault, kidnapping, and causing emotional distress.
The 31-year-old was detained on Wednesday in a joint operation between local and federal police forces.
His ex-partner, Courtney Rossel, alleged in a complaint that Davis went to the strip club where she worked on October 27.

She claims he forced her outside, dragged her to a car park, grabbed her by the neck, pushed her, and hit her on the back of the head.
Davis was scheduled to fight YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Miami last November, but the bout was cancelled after the allegations surfaced.
Paul instead fought former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in December, losing by knockout in six rounds.
Nicknamed “Tank”, Davis is an unbeaten former world champion across multiple weight divisions.
His professional record stands at 30 victories, with 28 by knockout, and one draw.
This is not the first time Davis has faced assault or domestic violence accusations.
He was arrested last July on battery and domestic violence charges after allegedly assaulting the mother of his two children.
Those charges were later dropped after the woman declined to prosecute.
Davis also served 44 days in jail in 2023 after pleading guilty to a hit-and-run crash that injured four people. – AFP
